It matters not the time I’ve spent-
the length of years, or days, or hours-
if I found the rainbow’s end,
or ever danced among the flowers.
But that I touched your heart at all-
it is enough for me to know-
words not spoken with the tongue
were felt with knowing of the soul.
Now from my body life has gone-
blessed, I am released from earth-
my work is done, my spirit freed,
go I unto another birth.
If you should grieve that I am gone
lift your face unto the sky,
I shall be the soothing breath
of the breezes drifting by.
